The federal Government has told police it can’t give away guns without strict gun rules as it tries to prevent another tragedy from happening.

In a statement on Saturday, the Federal Gove바카라rnment confirmed it would issue tighter gun laws, saying they would be in place „at a minimum“ for the week after the Christmas holidays.

The Government announced it had asked police to investigate the safety of a „significant number“ of police firearms officers in south-east Queensland.

One departmental commander has described the plan as „unprecedented“.

The announcement comes just three days after Queensland’s deputy premier Bob Carr said he knew of five to six people already killed as result of gun restrictions.

The Queensland Government said in a statement at the weekend it would support a ban on firearms, but would allow the Federal Government and independent gun-rights groups to monitor the changes.

It is understood police are concerned the tighter restrictions will le바카라사이트ad to the loss of firearms officers on their streets.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman told the ABC on Saturday night it would not make any우리카지노 further comment on the announcement.

The Queensland Government said in the statement it has „no intention to reduce the state’s police forces… this is a matter for the respective regional departments themselves“

„Any attempt to impose stricter gun laws where guns are already in public hands would violate section 5.1(a) of the Federal Criminal Code and a court could impose severe penalties on the person who contravenes it,“ the statement said.
