Former Racing Federation of Australia chairman Peter Clark has been arrested by police for allegedly making false representations about an alleged cobalt refinery in his role as racing director.

Clark admitted five counts of making misleading or fraudulent representations in the Federal Court, including falsely reporting he had been told a job was available on a Cobalt site in Wodonga.

He denied the allegations made by prosecutors, and one count of lying in a witness statement.

The Cobalt refinery is owned by the Chinese state-owned CNR Group in Victoria.
